Helping You Stay Grounded Through Family And The Holidays🍂

As I sit down to write this, I feel a mix of emotions. The holidays are on the horizon—a season of warmth, celebration, and connection—but also a season that tends to highlight the wild edges of grief and the ache of loss. We deeply feel the shorter days, darker nights, and crisp, spiritually liminal mornings.

This month, I’m reflecting on the ways I can hold both the light and the shadow of the season. How can we honor the love and laughter without losing ourselves in the patterns that feel familiar and easy to slip into? How can we create small pockets of care for our hearts, bodies, and nervous systems amidst the swirl of gatherings and expectations? How can we remember that this season can remind us of our losses and can bring waves of grief?

This November, I’m setting an intention for intentionality—to move slowly, to choose what truly nourishes rather than what simply fills space. To honor boundaries not as walls, but as the kind and strong edges that keep our peace intact. The limits that are necessary if we truly desire to be present to goodness.

I invite you to slow down with me—to take a look around and notice something pleasant, whether in your surroundings or within yourself. Even if for one minute. Remember that it’s okay to desire emotional boundaries, to ask for support, and to struggle with the complexity of what arises as the seasons change.

As the holidays approach, may we move with gentleness, curiosity, and compassion—for ourselves and for the people we love.

May we choose a connection that feels grounded, and rest that feels real.

May we find warmth in intentional moments in the dark, magical corners of winter. 🌙

tons of love and care,

Natalie

If the adults in your childhood used shame and judgment to get you to change your behavior, then it makes sense that you would subconsciously rely on those tactics to change your behavior as an adult.
